Gary Rhodes 2011

As part of the BBC's Great British Food Revival series, celebrity chef Gary Rhodes visited the Orchard to present his own passion for the Great British Cherry!

A BBC Television crew descended on Park Farm Community Cherry Orchard, Lynsted, in July, 2011, for a two-day shoot.  The idea behind the series was to have  different celebrity chefs explain the culinary virtues of a range of British-grown produce.  Gary Rhodes was brought in to describe the delights of cherries, until recent years a major fruit crop in north Kent. Other experts in the world of cherry horticulture were also featured in a discussion on the future of the cherry industry. The orchard at Park Farm was chosen for filming part of the programme because it was typical of a traditional cherry orchard growing heritage varieties.
