Cherry Day Hits New Heights!
It now seems that Cherry Day is a ‘must’ in everyone’s calendar for the year. We had more people than ever before - an estimated 300 – and from all over the country, including Dorset, Suffolk and Bedfordshire.
Many people had brought picnics but others took advantage of the beer tent, the barbecue, cream tea stall and, of course, pick-your-own cherries. Unfortunately the cherries were not as abundant as in past years but people still managed to fill their punnets from the many varieties. We were entertained once again by the Sittingbourne Wind Ensemble, Lynsted with Norton School maypole dancers and a number of stalls including a variety of crafts and a prizewinning honey stall.
The weather was not as hot as in previous years but that did not seem to prevent everyone from enjoying themselves in what is a very special setting.
Our thanks are due to Pip and Sue Neaves for allowing us to use the Orchard for such a memorable occasion.
